The problem is that there are only a couple of soaps that will actually allow grease to cling to water. Either of these can be used as a grease stain remover.

The best grease stain remover is a bar of Ivory Soap. It is the only bar soap on the market that will allow grease molecule to bind with water. Generations of women have used a little Ivory Soap and some warm water for removing grease stains from clothing when modern laundry detergents would not work. Here’s how to remove grease stains with Ivory Soap.

1. Wet the spot and the soap.

2. Rub the soap on the spot.

3. Rub the spot with your fingers.

4. Rinse with warm water and check by letting light shine through the garment to check for complete grease stain removal.

5. If the spot is still there, repeat the process until it is out.

6. After removing grease stains from clothing, wash and dry them as usual.

Removing Grease Stains From Clothing Before You Wash Them

If you prefer a quicker grease stain remover, you can try a laundry pre-treater However, when pre-treating grease spots, you must use a pre-treatment stick that says specifically that it is designed for grease stain removal. If you don’t have that, you can also use Dawn dish detergent. It has a chemical structure similar to that of Ivory Soap and works in the same way.
