How to Clean Electric Stove Tops
Before beginning to clean an electric stove top, fill your sink half full of very hot water mixed with ½ cup household ammonia. Then dip a spray bottle into this mixture and fill it half full. Screw on the spray nozzle and you’re ready to go.
First, remove the burner rings and drip pans and rinse them well. Then place them in the sink full of water and ammonia. Hopefully they will soak clean while you tackle the stove top.
Spray the ammonia and water mix on your stove top and let it sit for a while. Then wipe and see what is left. If you have tough stains, pour a little full strength ammonia on them and let it sit while you work on the drip pans and burner rings. Then wipe again. If you still have a problem, drip a stiff brush or sponge in a little water and some baking soda and use this paste to gently scour off anything that is left.
How to Clean Electric Stove Drip Pans
By the time you get to the drip pans, most of the worst gunk should have soaked off. The next step is to scrub them well with some steel wool or a scouring pad. After they are clean, rinse them well and let them air dry while you move on to the rings.
How to Clean Electric Stove Burner Rings
Like the drip pan, the burner rings may have soaked clean. If not, tackle with a stiff brush dipped in a little baking soda. Rinse them well and polish them dry with a lint free towel.
Finally, reassemble your stove and enjoy the beauty of your clean electric stove top.
