Image by drcorneilus I will tell you right from the beginning: I love cleaning the bathtub with baking soda. While you may wonder how this can be, I do have several good reasons to like it. Not only does a baking soda tub cleaner do an excellent job, it also smells nice. Best of all, when I rinse and drain it after using baking soda to clean a bathtub, I know that all that is going down the drain is good safe soda, not harsh chemicals. So, if you want to learn how to clean a bathtub with baking soda, read on.
Cleaning The Bathtub With Baking Soda
To clean a bathtub with baking soda, start right after you let the water out. That’s because the stains, soap scum, etc., will have been loosened by soaking in the hot water. Let the tub drain completely and then sprinkle your baking soda tub cleaner on the worse stains. Let the soda sit for a few minutes then rub it in with a damp sponge or cloth. Rinse well and check the results. If any stains remain, repeat the process, but let the soda stay on the stains a little longer.
Even if it is just filthy, you can still clean a bathtub with baking soda. Just follow the same steps as above, except start when the tub is a little damper and let the baking soda sit longer. Unfortunately, you may have to scrub a little harder, too.
If the methods I mentioned above still fail to yield results, you may have to add another component. Sprinkle on the baking soda tub cleaner one more time and let it sit again. This time instead of scrubbing, pour some vinegar onto the baking soda and leave it there for at least 15 minutes. Then rinse well with very hot water.
